Teran Anno Domini 2017

Teran Anno Domini is produced only in good years, and hence the name. Grapes from our best vineyards are selected to produce this wine. After the ideal ripeness is reached and the vinification is complete, the wine is stored to age a few years, partly in wooden barrels and partly in the bottle. When it comes on the market, Teran Anno Domini is usually a well-rounded and full-bodied wine, with a lively acidic backbone, a valued collector's item with a long aging potential.

Year: 2017

From the vegetation point of view, the year is characterized by somewhat less lushness and moderate yields, and from the climatic point of view, a stable and predominantly warm year with little rain throughout the entire period from March to August. September was marked by significant rainfall, which postponed the teran harvest until October, which was extremely dry. It is basically a warmer year, which enabled a high concentration in the grapes. The green harvest was done at the beginning of August, and the regular harvest took place from October 5 to 10, 2017.

Description:

Deeper and opaque ruby red color with purple reflexes. A layered aroma of dried cherries and prunes, mixed with juicy forest fruits and fresh cherries. Only hints of the admixture of spicy notes originating from the oak are hinted at. The taste is equally layered, with depth, firm tannins, high concentration, moderate acids and lots of ripe fruitiness on the palate. The finish is marked by a pleasant warmth and an aftertaste of ripe Teran grapes, which leaves an impression of seductive sweetness in the mouth. It is a terana of a more mature type and a more complex character, intended for pairing with ambitious dishes and haute cuisine.

Gastronomic recommendation:

Aged steaks and other types of aged steaks are sprinkled with coarse salt and drizzled with olive oil. It will also accompany pieces of meat in richer sauces such as ossobuco and other similar dishes.
