Malvazija istarska 2023
Malvazija is our basic wine, to which we devote most of our attention, always trying to achieve a balance between the freshness, or its refreshing character, and the structure and stability. Therefore, our Malvazija has the fruitiness and minerality typical for fresh Malvasijas, and at the same time it also has complexity, depth and aging potential. It usually reaches its peak a year after the harvest and maintains it for three to five more years.

Vegetation normally started during April, with occasional rainfall until summer, which is enabled normal and healthy development of the plant in the first phase and flowering in regular periods during the first half of May. The summer was extremely dry, with high daily temperatures and the last significant rain in mid-July, which partially accelerated ripening and color change (veraison) grapes. There was no rainfall until the harvest, which took place for Malvasia in the period from August 31. to 15.09., depending on the location of the individual plot and exposure to the sun. The year was marked by a long drought period during the summer, completely healthy grapes, slightly lower yields than standard and a week earlier harvest than usual.
