Teran Anno Domini 2013
Teran Anno Domini is produced only in good years, and hence the name. Grapes from our best vineyards are selected to produce this wine. After the ideal ripeness is reached and the vinification is complete, the wine is stored to age a few years, partly in wooden barrels and partly in the bottle. When it comes on the market, Teran Anno Domini is usually a well-rounded and full-bodied wine, with a lively acidic backbone, a valued collector's item with a long aging potential.

It is a classic and viticulturally excellent year, very labor-intensive, in which the health of the grapes and vines had to be watched over, but with the reward at the end in the form of perfect grapes. On the vegetation side, it is characterized by somewhat less lushness and moderate yields, and on the climatic side, stable and predominantly warm weather with little rain throughout the entire period from March to August. Rainy and sunny periods alternated evenly, with slightly more pronounced rainfall in the first five months of the year from January to May, and from June to October with moderate rainfall adequate to the needs of the vine. The consequence is that the grapes reached full phenolic maturity in the classic period of mid-October and had comparatively less malt than in warmer or drier years. In the middle of August a green harvest was still made in order to achieve the best possible quality.
Description:
Lively, rich and modern wine with a strong Teran stamp in the form of high concentration and lively acid backbone. Forest fruits and ripe cherries dominate the aroma, supported by dark chocolate, mild spicy notes and barely audible notes of oak. The taste is lively, opulent and ripe at the same time, with a pleasant warmth on the finish and plenty of black fruit on the finish.
Gastronomic recommendation:
Aged steaks and other types of aged steaks are sprinkled with coarse salt and drizzled with olive oil.
