Teran Anno Domini 2007

Teran Anno Domini is produced only in good years, and hence the name. Grapes from our best vineyards are selected to produce this wine. After the ideal ripeness is reached and the vinification is complete, the wine is stored to age a few years, partly in wooden barrels and partly in the bottle. When it comes on the market, Teran Anno Domini is usually a well-rounded and full-bodied wine, with a lively acidic backbone, a valued collector's item with a long aging potential.

Year: 2007

The year 2007 was warm, with moderate and shorter rainfall distributed throughout the entire vegetation period. Due to the longer warm periods, full maturity was reached a shade earlier, which on the vegetation side caused somewhat less lushness, as well as moderate yields. The green harvest, through which only bunches with good qualitative potential were left on the vine in terms of size, shape and position, was carried out at the beginning of August. Harvesting was done a shade earlier than usual, at the end of September.

Description:

The smell of a more mature character, which after a short airing opens in the direction of blackened marasca cherries, dark chocolate, oak, dry herbal aromas and forest fruits. In the mouth, it behaves like a classic Istrian teran, a shade fuller, lively, with a cherry sweetness in the middle, with a spicy and developed finish and with notes of leather and blackberries on the aftertaste. Balanced, ripe tannins, moderate concentration, medium to full bodied with long duration.

Gastronomic recommendation:

Dry aged beefsteaks and other aged steaks sprinkled with coarse salt and olive oil, or meat in rich sauces, like osso buco and similar dishes.
